Behind Drop 001: how OBJECT_001 was made
OBJECT_001 is the first garment Out of Office has released. It started as one question: what does a t-shirt look like when it is built for the hours after work rather than the hours inside it?
One garment, not a collection
Drop 001 contains a single piece. That was a deliberate constraint. A first release that says one thing clearly is more useful than a range that says five things quietly.
The silhouette is oversized but resolved: a boxy shoulder, a dropped sleeve, and a body length that sits straight rather than tapering. It is designed to be worn untucked, over anything, in any order.
Why 260 gsm
The body is a 260 gsm heavyweight cotton jersey. Lighter fabrics move well but collapse at the shoulder, which ruins an oversized cut. At 260 gsm the garment holds its own shape after washing and reads structured rather than draped.
The trade-off is drying time and cost per unit. Both were acceptable; a garment that loses its shape after six washes is not.
The print
The graphic is applied as a premium heat transfer print in Sweden. Compared with screen printing on heavyweight jersey, the transfer holds a sharper edge and a controlled satin finish, and it does not sink into the weave.
Every piece is pressed in small batches after the reservation window closes, so nothing is produced that nobody has asked for.
Reservation, not stock
There is no checkout. You reserve a size, the window closes, production runs against the exact number reserved, and payment is requested only when the garment is ready to ship.
It is slower than buying from stock. It also means no overproduction, no discount cycle, and no deadstock.
